A Day for Love and a BIG SALE!

valentines cards

Don’t you just love Valentine’s Day?

I do. I always have… From the time I was a very little girl, tentatively inscribing each classmate’s name on an individually handmade card. (My mom insisted we make, rather than buy, our cards. A tradition I continued with my own three children.) Plastering a plain old shoe box with doilies and hearts to be used as a box to transport my cards to and from school in. These were some of my first creative experiences as a child. I loved receiving handmade cards, easily as much as I loved the boxes of candy hearts and chocolate, and the roses that came on February 14 in later years. My kids are grown, some with children of their own, and I still make personalized, individual cards for each of them every year. I met my husband in February 1978 and there’s not been a year since that I haven’t made him one.

For those who don’t take this same level of pleasure in creating your own, the SHOP on my website includes some individually handprinted-by-me  Valentines you can buy to give to those you love. (Order by February 7 to be sure you get them in time to mail.)

6.1.2020 | Back in March, as I was faced with the reality that my ability to market my products to retail buyers would be greatly diminished due to the shut down, it became obvious that I’d need to infuse some adrenaline into my direct-to-consumer sales. • Printing Sunflowers to Aid Humanitarian Efforts in Ukraine

Millions of families have fled the violence in Ukraine, while many have stayed behind to fight. All are suffering unimaginable conditions. People experiencing this conflict will feel the immediate effects from loss of food, shelter and often family, as well as long term trauma to their physical and mental health. How might we be of help?
As a means of showing my support for the people of Ukraine, this month, I will begin donating a portion of proceeds from all the Sunflower printed products I sell (towels, aprons, napkins, etc.) to Sunflower of Peace, a non-profit organization with offices in greater Boston as well as in Ukraine, that provides children and families in Ukraine with life-saving medical and humanitarian aid.
Join me in helping them in one of two ways.
