The design of each of my towels and table linens is inspired by nature and by my verve for color and for functional objects representative of good design. Each linen is unique – individually printed using a process that begins with carving my original drawings onto a pliable rubber surface which is then mounted on wood to create a stamp.
I hand paint the stamp again and again to create printed impressions that mirror gardens, both real and imagined. The fabrics I print on are made of natural fibers and the paints are food safe and heat set, to withstand rigorous use and repeated washing.
Here’s a short video of me printing a poppy table runner.
